Dual Major (Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching)

Since the Major programs in Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching are almost identical, a student may obtain a dual major in both Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching by taking at most one more course. This is achieved as follows:

A student majoring in Mathematics: take MATH-380 as the Math elective, to obtain the dual major.

A student majoring in Mathematics Teaching: take one additional course from MATH-431, 451, or 481, to obtain the dual major.

Mathematics Minor

MATH-190, 191, 280, an approved computer science course, and two additional courses chosen from MATH-220, 270, 300, 330, 380, 430, 431, 450, 451, 480, 481. (The combination of MATH-220 and MATH-450 cannot be used to satisfy these requirements.)

Mathematics Teaching Minor, and Related Programs

The department supports six additional programs in mathematics teaching:

Interested students should consult with the Department for further details on these programs.
